  • Position Overview The Technical Program Manager (TPM) is responsible for driving the planning, coordination, and delivery of complex, cross-functional programs across hardware, software, robotics, and operations teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end program management for complex, multi-team engineering initiatives across the autonomous vehicle platform.
  • Build and maintain detailed program schedules, identifying critical paths, dependencies, and resource constraints.
  • Drive structured communication rhythms including program reviews, status updates, and stakeholder reporting.
  • Organize system-level design reviews and ensure interface agreements between subsystem teams are well-defined and documented.
  • Manage trade-off decisions by working with technical leads to evaluate schedule, cost, and scope impacts.
  • Develop and maintain program documentation including plans, decision logs, and retrospectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes, tooling, and program execution practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering program management, or a related role.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional programs involving hardware, software, and systems integration.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering concepts including requirements management, interface control, and V&V processes.
  • Experience with program scheduling tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, MS Project, Smartsheet, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to decompose ambiguous problems into actionable plans.

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in the autonomous vehicle, robotics, or advanced manufacturing industry.
  • Familiarity with vehicle systems development including mechanical, electrical, and embedded software domains.
  • Experience managing programs with both hardware prototype and software release cycles.
  • Background in Agile, Scrum, or other iterative development methodologies.
  • Experience with functional safety standards or safety-critical system development processes.
  • Familiarity with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing or vehicle-level validation programs.
  • PMP, PgMP, or equivalent program management certification.

Compensation

  • This role is eligible for base salary + benefits + equity compensation. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including qualifications, skills, experience, and location.
