Responsibilities
- Management and implementation of a wide variety of engineering design and consulting projects.
- Coordinate and conduct building and fire code reviews and analyses, including plan reviews and site visits.
- Develop fire protection strategies, performance-based design approaches, and alternative solutions to resolve client design issues.
- Support business development and client relationship management efforts in the sub-region (up to 10% of role). Consultants are anticipated to support a "seller doer" mentality.
- Experience in developing building code concepts and equivalencies, conducting building plan reviews, and conducting field reviews/inspections.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in any of the following areas: code consulting, design of fire suppression and alarm systems, and developing performance-based strategies in a project design environment
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering (preferably Fire Protection), Architecture, or related field.
- Proven project management experience.
- Ability to present clear and technically sound fire protection engineering strategies.
- Ability to work well independently and to interact with other industry professionals, associated trades, and jurisdictional authorities.

- Jensen Hughes is seeking an experienced Fire Protection Consultant in the Pacific Northwest, ideally near Portland, Oregon or Bellevue, Washington.
- The successful applicant will have experience in fire protection and code consulting and possess strong analytical and creative thinking skills.
- Registered Professional Engineer license, NICET certification, or equivalent strongly preferred.
Compensation
- Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting and not a guarantee of compensation.
- National Pay Range
- $105,000 - $130,000 USD
