About the role

  • Summary of Role: This Principal Equipment Engineer will work in the Reactive Ion Etch area at Fab 9, Essex Junction, VT.
  • This role is fully onsite at this 200mm waferfab foundry facility, on a Monday - Friday daytime schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate daily with maintenance technicians and process engineers to meet production demands
  • Drive continuous improvement projects with respect to equipment availability, cost reduction, and yield improvement
  • Establish and manage the spare parts to meet repair budgets
  • Support cross functional problem solving, involving facilities, maintenance and process engineering
  • Manage installation and startup of new or retrofit equipment
  • Mentor and lead lower-level equipment engineering team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager
  • This engineer will own the daily performance of a diverse set of semiconductor etch equipment types and set the strategic plans for improvements and new equipment.

Requirements

  • BS + 2-4 years' relevant field experience OR MS + 1-year relevant field experience
  • Ability to lift and carry parts up to 30 lbs., stand, or bend and crouch to inspect, or work on equipment in the clean room for extended periods of time

Nice to have

  • Experience with supplier and contractor management
  • PLC, control systems and instrumentation
  • Project management and communication of plans
  • Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing, equipment and clean room facilities
  • Basic data analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong planning & organizational skills
  • $69,000.00 - $145,800.00
