About the role

Orla operates the Camino Rojo Oxide Gold Mine, a gold and silver open-pit heap leach mine, located in Zacatecas State, Central Mexico.
This low-cost operation is 100% owned by Orla, covers over 139,000 hectares, and includes a large sulfide mineral endowment located beneath the oxide resources.
This project is part our larger South Carlin Complex which includes a prospective land package.

Implement effective grade control strategies to optimize head grades and minimize dilution.
Review and authorize development prints and stope designs, verifying geological positioning, tones, and grade accuracy.
Manage the stope closure process, providing final sign-offs to facilitate timely backfilling operations.
Design, schedule, and manage diamond drilling programs.
Issue drill designs and maintain strict cost control over the drilling budget.
Manage PAG/NAG material segregation and environmental sampling to ensure compliance with provincial regulations.

Ability to work in an underground environment, including lifting/carrying up to 75 lbs and reaching/climbing as required.
Must be able to acquire a PGO (Ontario)designation transfer within 30 days of hire).
Proficiency in Deswik (MDM/CAD), AcQuire, and, Power BI is highly desirable.
Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite is required.
4-year B.Sc. degree in Geology or Earth Sciences.

5+ years of underground production geology experience (Gold/Precious metals preferred).

The salary for this position is $150,000 to $160,000 per year, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.
This role is eligible to participate in the Company's annual short term incentive program.
The target annual bonus for this position is 25% of base salary, subject to individual and company performance.

The Company offers a Defined Contribution Pension Plan (DCPP), including an automatic 5% employer contribution, with the option for employees to receive up to an additional 4% employer match on employee contributions.
