About the role

  • We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Addiction Counsellor to join our multidisciplinary team.
  • You will provide clinical treatment planning, therapeutic counselling, case management, and community education, all while upholding the highest standards of care and professionalism.
  • We are hiring for one (1) full time permanent role, working out of our Argentia office, in the hospital setting and within the community.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, including risk and psychosocial assessments, and develop individualized care plans in collaboration with clients.
  • Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate and timely documentation, participate in team meetings, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the program.

Requirements

  • Provide ongoing therapeutic counselling, case management, and client support, facilitating both individual and group sessions as required.
  • Requirements Master's degree in human services (completed or in progress) from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in substance abuse counselling, with knowledge of withdrawal management and trauma-informed care.
  • Familiarity with anti-racism, anti-oppression frameworks, and a commitment to these principles.
  • Must be comfortable with extensive keyboarding and use of office technology.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
