About the role
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Engages the customer in a friendly manner, shares product information, and assists in locating products throughout the store.
- Notifies Management of any situations relating to customer service, safety, productivity, security, or any other situation that may adversely affect the store.
Responsibilities
- Performs all functions of opening or closing the store, including counting the safe, preparing drawers, pulling daily reports, performing loans, cash drops, and exchanges.
- Maintains cashier bank per department policy, monitors cash flow
- Maintains awareness of current ads, promotions, holidays and events
- Rings up and bags customer purchases, performs carry-outs.
- Maintains cleanliness, organization, and rotation of all areas, products, and supplies
- Maintains accountability while the GM or AGM is not in the store, responds to customer and employee issues, and works diligently to protect the store and ensure the store runs effectively.
- Demonstrates ability to multitask and manage own time
Requirements
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in grocery (or similar retail) operations
- Familiarity with POS or inventory systems
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a collaborative, hands-on leadership style
- Commitment to community values and creating a supportive work environment
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Compensation
- Training Rate: $19.50 per Hour / After Training: $20.50- $25.00 per Hour, Based on Experience
- Engages the customer in a friendly manner, shares product information, and assists in locating products throughout the store.
- Seeks opportunities to exceed customer expectations and enhance the customer experience
- Guides the work of others, ensures staff complete daily opening/closing checklists, plans and assigns work to ensure quality standards are met, trains staff, and oversees their productivity as directed by Management
- Ensures each department follows cash handling, register, and return procedures
- Processes returns per policy and assists cashiers with complex returns
