About the role

DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital is seeking full-time Credentialed Veterinary Technicians (CVT/LVT/RVT) to join our Emergency Surgery and new Appointment-Based Surgery teams.
Note for applicants: DoveLewis hires for both a general Veterinary Technician role and department-specific technician roles like Surgery.
You'll provide advanced nursing care before, during, and after surgery in compliance with the attending veterinarian's directives and the Oregon Veterinary Practice Act.

VTS pathway support for credentialed technicians seeking to specialize, with mentorship from experienced VTS team members.
As a Surgery Veterinary Technician, you'll guide the preparation and flow of surgical cases to support efficient, accurate, and high-quality patient care in partnership with the attending surgeon.
Prepare patients and support the flow of surgical cases Provide surgical and anesthesia nursing support before, during, and after procedures Administer medications and calculate dosages accurately Place and manage catheters/tubes, monitor vitals, and ensure patient comfort Coordinate with surgeons, assistants, and client-facing team members for a smooth experience Help guide and train Veterinary

Pre-employment background and drug screen for illegal substances is required.
AA or BA/BS degree from accredited veterinary technician program required Advancing your surgery and anesthesia skills while working alongside a highly skilled team.

Regular Continuing Education with in-house CE and access to professional learning funds.

Collaborating across multiple specialties, including ECC, Neurology, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Exotics, Hospice, Pain Management, Urgent Care, and Diagnostic Imaging.
What We're Looking For Requirements Current status as a Certified Veterinary Technician in Oregon OR credentialed elsewhere (LVT/RVT/credentialed veterinary nurse/technician) with ability to transfer to Oregon High school diploma or equivalent Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered Preferred Related experience in elective surgery and/or orthopedic procedures
