About the role
- The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily logistics operations within a laboratory environment, including managing a fleet of couriers, coordinating specimen/sample transportation, and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
- This role ensures timely, compliant, and efficient movement of materials while supporting overall lab operations.
Responsibilities
- Ensure timely pickup and delivery of laboratory specimens, supplies, and documents
- Optimize delivery routes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
- Maintain accurate inventory records using tracking systems
- Collaborate with lab staff to prioritize urgent or time-sensitive deliveries
- Maintain documentation for audits and inspections
- Develop schedules and manage staffing levels
- Identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements
- Support implementation of logistics or inventory management systems

Requirements
- 3-5+ years of logistics, transportation, or inventory management experience
- Previous supervisory experience required
- Knowledge of inventory systems and logistics software
- Prior experience in a laboratory, healthcare, or regulated environment strongly preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Understanding of laboratory handling procedures and compliance standards
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability under pressure
- Laboratory and warehouse environment
- Schedule is typically a hybrid between 1st and 2nd shift based on business needs
- Must be flexible and willing to work off-hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or on-call support as needed
- May require occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs)
Nice to have
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Biology, or related field (preferred)
