About the role

  • The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily logistics operations within a laboratory environment, including managing a fleet of couriers, coordinating specimen/sample transportation, and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
  • This role ensures timely, compliant, and efficient movement of materials while supporting overall lab operations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely pickup and delivery of laboratory specimens, supplies, and documents
  • Optimize delivery routes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using tracking systems
  • Collaborate with lab staff to prioritize urgent or time-sensitive deliveries
  • Maintain documentation for audits and inspections
  • Develop schedules and manage staffing levels
  • Identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements
  • Support implementation of logistics or inventory management systems

Requirements

  • 3-5+ years of logistics, transportation, or inventory management experience
  • Previous supervisory experience required
  • Knowledge of inventory systems and logistics software
  • Prior experience in a laboratory, healthcare, or regulated environment strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Understanding of laboratory handling procedures and compliance standards
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Problem-solving and decision-making ability under pressure
  • Laboratory and warehouse environment
  • Schedule is typically a hybrid between 1st and 2nd shift based on business needs
  • Must be flexible and willing to work off-hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or on-call support as needed
  • May require occasional lifting (up to 50 lbs)

Nice to have

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Biology, or related field (preferred)
