About the role
- In collaboration with the nurse manager, supervises staff and unit operations and provides direct patient care.
- Supervises care provided by staff to ensure the delivery of safe and quality patient care on the unit and to ensure appropriate standards of professional nursing practice are maintained in the clinical setting.
- Serves in direct patient care role greater than 50% of the time.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with clinical nurse educators to support new staff orientation and training.
- Maintains high visibility to patients/families and staff on the unit, primarily on off-shifts, and resolves problems as needed.
- Performs a variety of administrative, human resource, payroll, quality improvement and unit coordination activities.
- Our current staff enjoy the nurse to patient ratios, opportunity to gain experience in both ICU and Progressive Med-Surg levels of care, and the support of a small community hospital setting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing Experience - Two (2) years of RN experience in related area of nursing.
- Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses Holds a current RN compact/multistate license recognized by the NCSBN Compact State or is licensed to practice as an RN in the state the team member is working.
- Team members working in Critical Care Transport are required to have a valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record, as defined by the Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) Chart.
Nice to have
- Management/supervisory experience preferred.
- Certified in nursing specialty preferred.
Skills
- Assists with continuing staff development to include clinical problem solving and decision-making skills.
