About the role
- The position provides a great introduction to the IP practice at a large law firm.
- Many former IP Clerks have gone on to attend law school, become patent agents, or to work as paralegals.
- Candidate should also be flexible to work overtime as needed.
Responsibilities
- Manages incoming US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and foreign Patent Office correspondence
- Maintains and organizes client files and electronic databases
- Performs administrative tasks for IP department
- Assists with other department activities as needed, and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- Good working knowledge of biology, chemistry, and/or molecular biology
- Bachelor's degree required
- Computer proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
- Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly
Nice to have
- Prior life-science experience is a plus
Compensation
- $29.54 - $30.20 per hour
- Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
