About the role

  • Job Description: What We Need Seattle Pacific University is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Analyst to join our Finance & Accounting team.
  • This role is essential in maintaining the integrity of the University's financial records, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • You will play a meaningful role in both day-to-day accounting operations and the continued implementation and optimization of Workday across the University.

Responsibilities

  • Support the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Maintain documentation to support reconciliations and internal control requirements
  • Support system configuration and process improvements to strengthen reporting and efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure effective system integration
  • Support external audit processes by preparing documentation and reports
  • Partner with departments across campus to provide financial insights and support

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
  • 1-3 years of accounting, finance, or related experience
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data
  • Familiarity with nonprofit financial reporting regulations

Nice to have

  • CPA or equivalent certification (preferred)
  • Experience with ERP systems (Workday or Banner preferred)
  • Preferred Experience

Compensation

  • for this non-exempt positions starts at $52,500 annually ($25.24 per hour), commensurate to experience.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
