About the role
- Job Description: What We Need Seattle Pacific University is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Analyst to join our Finance & Accounting team.
- This role is essential in maintaining the integrity of the University's financial records, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
- You will play a meaningful role in both day-to-day accounting operations and the continued implementation and optimization of Workday across the University.
Responsibilities
- Support the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
- Maintain documentation to support reconciliations and internal control requirements
- Support system configuration and process improvements to strengthen reporting and efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure effective system integration
- Support external audit processes by preparing documentation and reports
- Partner with departments across campus to provide financial insights and support
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- 1-3 years of accounting, finance, or related experience
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data
- Familiarity with nonprofit financial reporting regulations
Nice to have
- CPA or equivalent certification (preferred)
- Experience with ERP systems (Workday or Banner preferred)

Compensation
- for this non-exempt positions starts at $52,500 annually ($25.24 per hour), commensurate to experience.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
