About the role

  • The role reviews and authorizes binding authority requests and ensures compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Review and authorize complex new business submissions and renewal risks submitted by brokers, including analysis of historical performance and overall risk quality.
  • Evaluate risk exposure and determine appropriate underwriting decisions, including acceptance, modification, or declination of risks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with brokers, agents, and internal underwriting partners to support a profitable and sustainable book of business.
  • Maintain and expand knowledge of international taxation rules and ensure proper application and filing across applicable jurisdictions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Binding Authority and Insurance Underwriting with a Bachelor's degree.
  • Prescribed: Minimum requirements for state P&C and/or surplus line licenses

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Business Administration, Risk Management preferred.
  • Any other related discipline or commensurate work experience considered.
  • Preferred: Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU)

Skills

  • Coach and mentor junior binding authority underwriters, supporting the development of technical underwriting skills and insurance knowledge.

Compensation

  • The target salary range for this position is $78,750.00 - $78,750.00 annually.
  • The pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
