About the role

  • This role combines deep technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring high-quality delivery of Database Admin services within the company's Oracle Exadata Database Machine environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage database backups, restoration processes, and disaster recovery configurations via tools like Recovery Manager (RMAN).
  • Perform proactive capacity planning and resource monitoring with recommendations for system improvement.
  • Manage and monitor environments using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM)
  • Represent the team in technical discussions, project meetings, design reviews, and cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Ensure availability to support the team as technical and leadership needs arise.
  • Support procurement activities, including preparing technical requirements, completing documentation, and assisting with third‑party assessments.
  • Operational Support
  • Step in to perform tasks when team workload or deadlines require it.
  • Provide 24x7 on-call support.
  • Building or configuring physical servers, provisioning new VMs and virtual server environments

Requirements

  • Will consider additional years of relevant experience and/or related technical certifications in lieu of degree requirement (in accordance with the FLSA Computer Professionals Exemption).

Nice to have

  • AS Technical Related Degree with 8 years' technical experience.
  • BS Technical Related Degree with 6 years' technical experience
  • MS Technical Related Degree with 4 years' technical experience
  • Minimum of four (4) years' experience working with Oracle Exadata database machines.
  • Oracle Exadata expertise including managing storage cells, compute nodes, and network RoCE switches
  • Experience in Oracle Enterprise Linux (OEL)/Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and Unix Operating systems
  • Scripting skills using Unix/Linux shells, Python, or other similar scripting languages.
  • Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and diagnostic skills

Compensation

  • The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $106,000 - $132,500
