Performs all decontamination functions for surgical instrumentation and equipment using proper infection control techniques.
Performs the assembly of surgical instrumentation and equipment and prepares them for sterilization.
Maintains clean and safe work environment.
Manages instrument inventory to assure timely distribution of instruments to the operating room.
Performs biological and diagnostic tests on sterilizers and provides accurate timely documentation of results.
Maintains, cleans, and signs off all assigned areas according to schedule.

Follows all manufacturer's recommendations as required.
Initiates repairs and performs required maintenance as needed.
Inspects instruments and assures they are free of bio-burden and in proper working condition prior to assembling sets. Initiates repairs and performs required maintenance as needed.
