About the role

Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection for patients across all age groups, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations
- Deliver patient-centered care with respect for cultural sensitivity and community values
- Maintain specimen integrity and minimize errors or delays
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
- Administrative & Support Functions
- Document all procedures and patient interactions accurately
- Assist with laboratory support tasks and clerical duties as needed
- Maintain adequate inventory of phlebotomy supplies and notify leadership of shortages
- Support overall laboratory operations as directed
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency in venipuncture and specimen collection techniques
- Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations, including Native American communities
- Ability to remain composed and effective in high-demand clinical environments
Nice to have
- Completion of a formal Phlebotomy training program preferred
- National certification (e.g., ASCP, AMT, NHA) preferred
- Minimum of one (1) year of phlebotomy experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred
