About the role

  • Alta is seeking a motivated and skilled Lab Technician to join our Facility Operations team.
  • This role will be responsible for supporting lab operations by preparing solutions, calibrating equipment and maintaining the lab.
  • The ideal candidate will be a key contributor to multiple science teams ensuring that the lab runs as safely and effectively as possible.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, dispense and document chemical solutions for the lab
  • Maintain, operate, and calibrate laboratory equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of lab workspaces, tools, and equipment.
  • Perform other duties related to the primary job duties

Requirements

  • Associates/bachelor's in biology/chemistry
  • 0-3 years working in a laboratory setting:
  • Experience reading and following SOPs
  • Ability to operate common lab equipment, such as pH meters, autoclaves, dishwashers, incubators, etc.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across multiple teams
  • The individual will join a group of collaborative scientists with diverse skill sets and must have strong communication and critical thinking skills with a rigorous approach to science.

Nice to have

  • Experience in running electrophoresis gels is not required but is a plus

  • The salary range for this position is $58,000 - $64,000 commensurate with educational background and work experience.
