About the role

  • Chronic Complex Care - for adults living with a complex disease or life-threatening illness.
  • Day Hospital - a community-based program for seniors who are experiencing a mix of physical, mental, emotional and social concerns.
  • The emphasis is on assessment and treatment within a short-term, goal-based program.

Responsibilities

  • Other duties may include providing clinical supervision to support staff and students.
  • The prime populations are adults on hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis, as well as people who need specialized respiratory support (i.e. tracheostomy and ventilator dependent).

Requirements

  • Graduation from a recognized Masters or Degree program in Occupational Therapy Registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT);
  • Experience using occupational therapy in a clinical and/or continuing care setting an asset.
  • Responsible for other related duties as required.
  • Employees are required to use technologies, devices, resources, and systems provided by the employer, as per Carewest policy and procedure.
  • Adherence to relevant privacy legislation and best practice including HIA, ATIA, POPA, and InfoCare Behaviours, is required.
  • Eligible for membership in CAOT;
  • AADL Authorizer is an asset.
