About the role

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY Rick Hansen Foundation Youth Leadership Committee Rick Hansen Foundation School Program (RHFSP) Purpose RHF is accepting applications for volunteers between the ages of 13 - 30 for the Youth Leadership Committee.
Professional growth includes the development of soft skills such as public speaking, record keeping, time management, conflict resolution and emotional intelligence.
Term September 2026 - August 2027 (one year term) Time commitment Members commit to one meeting per month generally held the third Saturday of the month at noon (12:00pm) Pacific Time from September through June.

Must be aged 13-30 inclusive;
Demonstrate an ability to constructively participate in a fair and open-minded manner;
Demonstrate an ability to consider a broad range of views that reflect the diversity of their local community(ies);
Demonstrate an ability to facilitate communication and engagement with youth;
Possess the capacity to commit for the required duration
Must currently reside in Canada
Possess a good knowledge and understanding of issues that are relevant to youth with disabilities
Show a willingness to celebrate the success and achievements of youth with disabilities
Agree to be subject to a criminal background check.
