About the role
- Summary: Apply engineering principals and concepts learned from previous experience and/or formal education.
- Provide work direction to technicians and less experienced colleagues.
- Work includes engineering calculations and decision-making and is performed on multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities
- Prepare engineering documents for use in complex projects.
- To prepare documents, collect and analyze field data of existing conditions, complete engineering calculations to determine design parameters and determine best solutions to resolve existing problems within budget limitations.
- Calculations and project documents are reviewed and sealed by a Professional Engineer for compliance with State Statutes.
- Perform construction management duties.
- Duties may also include review of submittals, shop drawings, RFI's, pay applications and other documents prepared during the construction process.
- Have working knowledge of Building Codes, ASTM standards and engineering calculations and use engineering judgement to apply these items to actual field conditions.
- Ability to read, understand and develop project specifications, drawings, submittals and other documentation, identify discrepancies between actual construction and project requirements, and articulate these discrepancies both verbally and in written reports.
- Sufficient physical ability to perform moderate lifting (approximately 50 pounds maximum).
- Drive up to 8 hours a day (4 hours each way).
- Building Enclosure: 3 years (Preferred)
Requirements
- Level II and Level III project managers will serve as a mentor and encourage the advancement of the careers and knowledge of less experienced personnel.
- Bachelor's degree in scientific or engineering field, or formal technical program and equivalent experience.
- Ability to climb ladders.

Skills
- Working knowledge of job site safety requirements and use of safety equipment required for performing their work.
- Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to direct, motivate and provide constructive criticism tactfully.
- Ability to read, write and speak English fluently.
- Organizational skills and an ability to interact with clients.
- Word processing, spreadsheet, and general computer skills.
