Responsibilities
- Process and manage air and ocean container releases.
- Analyze documents to determine applicable tariff classifications, duties, and tax rates.
- Maintain strong knowledge of Canadian ports and warehouses.
- This position is critical to ensuring shipments are handled in a timely and efficient manner, working collaboratively with the Air/Ocean team to deliver exceptional service to our clients.
Requirements
- A strong understanding of Canadian rules and regulations for importing goods.
- Experience with ITMr4, Cargowise, and/or CANdata is an asset.
- Liaise with other teams for entry follow-up as required.
- Complete files within required timeframes and in line with A & A and Canadian regulations.
- The ideal candidate will have previous experience working at a customs brokerage in Canada.
- Tech-savviness. You pick up new systems quickly and like finding efficiencies in digital tools. Experience with ITMr4, Cargowise, and/or CANdata is an asset.
- Confidence with Gmail/Front, Google Drive, and Google Sheets.
- Sharp problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Professional written and verbal communication, including active listening.
- Effective work habits: punctual, responsive, and comfortable juggling priorities.
- A highly organized, self-starting, flexible, and independent approach, which is important in a remote role.
- The Details
- Hours: Full-time, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday to Friday.
- Salary: $50,000 - $60,000, plus a competitive benefits package.
Nice to have
- 2+ years of customs clearance coordination, ideally specializing in air/ocean shipments (preferred).
- Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) or an equivalent Canadian designation (preferred).
