Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize restrooms and shower areas, including toilets, urinals, partitions, sinks, mirrors, counters, and vents. Refill dispensers, scrub and mop floors, clean drains, and maintain overall hygiene standards.
- Sweep, mop, and maintain hard-surface floors.
- Perform seasonal tasks such as snow removal and ice melt application around entries and exits.
- Perform floor maintenance, including scrubbing, buffing, burnishing, stripping, and refinishing. Remove stains from carpets and upholstery as needed.
- Collect, separate, and dispose of trash and recyclable materials. Break down boxes, maintain waste collection areas, and operate dumpsters and compactors.
- Perform occasional ladder work or bed-making.
- Address unexpected requests from building managers or hall staff.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment.
- Support other assigned tasks that contribute to the overall appearance and functionality of University facilities.
Requirements
- Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
- Must be able to work effectively with infrequent direct supervision.
- Must be able to follow instructions and procedures.
- Must be able to work safely and report hazards and concerns.
Nice to have
- Previous custodial experience preferred
- Basic computer skills are preferred.
Compensation
- $60k-$742k
