About the role

  • This position works closely with students, student managers, and limited-term employees.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and non-routine food preparation activities including cook-to-order and specialty foods (50%)
  • Cleans, inspects and maintains bakery equipment and work areas to ensure adherence to safe food quality, handling, and sanitation processes and procedures (10%)

Requirements

  • Experience in various food service concepts (Full service, quick service, etc.)
  • At least two years of experience preparing food in a commercial kitchen environment

Skills

  • Experience cooking food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists
  • Experience working in higher education, hotel, hospital, or institutional facility
  • Associate's Degree or higher in Culinary Arts or related field
  • ServSafe Sanitation Certification or equivalent
  • Sauteing, Broiling, Frying, Roasting, Butchery, Garde Manger, Pantry, Breakfast Cookery, etc.
