About the role

  • The Texas Rangers are looking for a HVAC Technician to join our team!
  • The HVAC technician will work in partnership with other internal departments, City of Arlington representatives, vendors, tenants, and contractors to coordinate logistics, preventative maintenance schedules, repairs, inspections, and management of projects.
  • Duties include, but are not limited to, daily maintenance checks, general repairs, tool and supply management, periodic maintenance logs, and other assignments as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and operate Building Maintenance System or similar control systems.
  • Maintain and perform preventive maintenance on controls and related equipment; adjust and calibrate equipment when necessary.
  • Maintain property maintenance certifications, permits, and log books necessary to meet all local, state, or government requirements.
  • Maintain a revolving in-house inventory of filters and repair materials for all equipment.

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds and move with large bulk items.
  • Required to work in situations requiring heights and/or tight working conditions from extension step ladders and lifts.
  • Perform routine maintenance services including, but not limited to, air filter changes, belt changes, cleaning, refrigerant recharging, record logging, and required inspections.
  • Ability to walk, sit, climb, crawl, kneel, squat, bend, and extend arms and legs fully.
  • Ability to use hands to manipulate and effectively use tools and controls.

Nice to have

  • 2 or 4 year degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in HVAC repair and/or service work.
  • 1-2 years experience in maintenance and repair of centrifugal chillers, air cooled chillers, large AHU's, VAV boxes, fan coils, Split systems, pollution control units, Crack data room equipment and/or similar equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and work plans.
  • Efficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other computer software skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to multi-task at a high level of detail across multiple projects.
