About the role

  • Duke is focusing on a balanced mix of renewable energy sources like solar, along with new natural gas plants and advanced battery storage to meet growing demand.
  • The Project consists of 2 unit - 1x1 Combined Cycle Power Plant expecting to start mobilization in Spring 2026, and complete Construction in Fall 2030.
  • Candidate will be expected to be on site.

Responsibilities

  • Create periodic project analysis of gathered data through verification and validation in order to support project controls metrics.
  • Perform Change Control.
  • Leads Under supervision of Sr.
  • Tracks and reports project status performs variance, earned value and critical path analyses at a level appropriate for the project.
  • Create and Maintain Project Estimate.
  • Work with Estimator(s) to create or create project cost estimate in order to establish effective cost controls management.
  • Manage the estimate according to PMCoE Estimating Standard and review cycle.

Requirements

  • Working Knowledge / Proficiency with project management / project controls concepts / computer applications such as scheduling software, financial tools, spreadsheets
  • Basic/Required Qualifications
  • High proficiency in MS Excel, including (but not limited to) macros, pivot tables, advanced formulas and data analysis functions.
  • Displays proficiency in conflict resolution and reaching win-win outcomes among team members.

Nice to have

  • Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in engineering, Project/Construction Management, Finance/Accounting, Business or other related degree and 2 plus years work related experience OR
  • HS/GED and 5 plus years work related experience in lieu of an associate's degree
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project/Construction Management, Finance/Accounting, Business or other related degree and 3 plus years work related experience

  • This position will be supporting the project controls department in cost, scheduling, change control and field verifications.
  • Field walkdowns are expected to monitor quantity installation and schedule status verification.
