About the role

Responsibilities
- ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Extended Day Organize and develop the Extended Day program of activities for students in grades Preschool and Kindergarten in partnership with the Preschool teaching assistant.
- Design a program that effectively supports students and fosters an environment aligned with Catlin Gabel's progressive pedagogical approach, emphasizing student voice, choice, and agency.
- Design and maintain an engaging classroom space, carefully choosing materials and activities that are age-appropriate, open-ended and student led.
- Ensure the safe operation of the program and maintain compliance with the State of Oregon Child Care Rules.
- Maintain effective communication with staff, parents, students, school colleagues, facilities personnel, and the business office of the school.

- POSITION SUMMARY The Extended Day Teacher - PS & K designs and leads activities afterschool for our preschool and kindergarten students in the Village classroom.
