About the role
- This position is responsible for fiscal strategy, financial integrity, regulatory compliance, enterprise risk management, budgeting, reporting, and long-term financial sustainability across governmental, corporate, housing, and commercial operations.
- The CFO serves as a key advisor to Tribal Council, governing boards, and executive leadership, ensuring transparency, accountability, and responsible stewardship of Tribal assets.
- Direct and oversee all financial operations across PRCI, CSE, TNFC, and CHA
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement financial policies and internal control systems across all entities
- Manage cash flow, investments, capital planning, and debt obligations
- Perform additional duties as directed by Tribal Council or governing Boards
Requirements
- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience managing consolidated budgets exceeding $25 million
- Experience with governmental accounting standards and enterprise financial reporting
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Must be able to pass a background investigation
- Verification of Tribal enrollment (required if claiming Tribal or Indian Preference)
- Tribal Members who meet the minimum qualifications will be given preference in hiring, promotion, transfer, and layoff decisions.
Nice to have
- Experience working within Tribal governments, Section 17 corporations, or Tribal housing authorities
- Knowledge of Federal Indian Law and Tribal governance structures
- Experience overseeing cannabis or other highly regulated commercial enterprises
- Experience managing HUD or federally funded housing programs
- Experience implementing or upgrading enterprise financial systems
Compensation
- $165,000 - $220,000 annually DOE
