About the role
- Business Development Executives are responsible for finding, qualifying, and closing work within their assigned region or market sector.
- Supported by Estimators, Business Development Associates, Coordinators, and Administrators, BDEs are strategic sellers, technical problem-solvers, and trusted advisors to EverGreene's clients.
- Identify, qualify, and pursue projects that fit EverGreene's capabilities, leveraging strategic market intelligence.
Responsibilities
- Expand and maintain a strong network to generate new business opportunities aligned with EverGreene's strategic priorities.
- Develop and implement winning pursuit and bid strategies, positioning EverGreene competitively across markets.
- Support project execution by providing well-planned proposals, clear scopes, and accurate contracts.
- Partner with project management to address challenges, scope changes, and maintain client satisfaction.
- Mentor and develop junior BD staff - Associates, Coordinators, and Administrators - to strengthen departmental capacity.
- Collaborate with Marketing to align pursuit strategies, project publicity, and company communications.
- Maintain engagement through project delivery to ensure continuity between preconstruction intent and execution.
- As a Business Development Executive (BDE) at EverGreene, you'll lead efforts to win complex restoration projects by cultivating relationships with owners, architects, and construction partners.
- This role is for proactive strategists who thrive on turning opportunities into contracts through insight, trust-building, and execution.
- For nearly 50 years, EverGreene has been a national leader in architectural restoration, conservation, and design-trusted to work on many of the most iconic and historically significant buildings in the United States.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in construction, preservation, architectural services, with a strong track record in business development or sales
- Strong knowledge of preconstruction processes, estimating, and proposal strategy
- Subject matter expertise in historic preservation projects and related trades
- Experience leading teams and managing multiple pursuits simultaneously
- Strategic thinker with the ability to evaluate risks and opportunities
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Established network of potential clients and industry partners
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain executive-level client relationships
- Comprehensive knowledge of major construction project execution, including the ability to interpret drawings and specifications, anticipate logistical challenges, and align EverGreene's estimating and proposal strategies with project delivery realities
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Proven ability to close deals and drive revenue growth
- Active involvement in Association for Preservation Technology International (APTI) is an advantage
