About the role

  • The Private Markets Analytical Officer is a dynamic, strategic leader reporting to the Chief Analytical Officer for Structured Finance & Private Markets.
  • As a Grade 14 leader, this individual will set a clear and inspiring vision aligned to enterprise and divisional strategy, motivating teams and stakeholders to achieve long-term objectives.
  • The Private Markets Analytical Officer will be responsible for the direction, quality, and delivery of a significant analytical agenda, including strategic decisions on priorities and resource deployment to achieve key outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Chief Analytical Officers, Practices, and Methodology teams to assess complex and novel private market transactions and develop analytical approaches for evaluating esoteric risks, with a particular focus on corporate and infrastructure risks.
  • Lead or contribute to highly visible, multidisciplinary initiatives across the organization, ensuring that analytical approaches are aligned with broader Ratings priorities and enterprise strategy.
  • Engage proactively with Insights teams globally to ensure consistency and transparency in our approach to private markets developments, while building detailed knowledge of cross-practice methodologies, structures, and markets.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent, compelling ratings narrative for clients, regulators, and market participants.
  • By valuing different perspectives and promoting a culture of respect and collaboration, we drive innovation and power global markets.

Requirements

  • Possess a deep understanding of private markets dynamics across regions and asset classes, along with demonstrated experience in thought leadership, research, or market insight development.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
  • This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.
  • An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 15+ years of extensive experience in private markets, private credit, credit ratings, structured finance, corporate credit, infrastructure finance, or a related analytical field.
  • Bring strong analytical credibility and the ability to develop authoritative market perspectives, as well as strong capability in structuring and improving data quality, consistency, and analytical usability.
  • Proven experience leading and developing small, high-performing analytical teams, with a focus on delivering thought leadership outputs and strengthening data quality, consistency, and analytical capability.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate effectively in a matrixed organization, as well as excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analytical topics into clear and compelling narratives.
  • We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.

Compensation

  • S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $210,000 USD to $291,000 USD.
  • Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.
  • In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
