About the role
- Our Aurora Central team is seeking a multiskilled, team-oriented Mechanical Technician who is proficient in troubleshooting, maintaining, and operating natural gas generator engines and related auxiliary equipment.
- The successful candidate may reside or relocate to Athabasca, AB, and report primarily to the Athabasca office along with our remote stations located across Northern Alberta.
- This position is eligible for company assisted relocation.
Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate and perform mechanical maintenance activities, to include routine corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, equipment and system improvements and major maintenance projects
- Complete work orders daily, enter data into job plans, create new work orders
Requirements
- Other tasks as required
Nice to have
- Experience in maintaining and optimizing engines while identifying performance trends and historical data
- Proven expertise in advanced mechanical diagnostics, top-end/major overhauls, and tuning of rich-burn and lean-burn Waukesha industrial engines, including ESM control.
- Extensive hands-on experience of mid-horsepower Caterpillar 3400 and 3500 series power systems, including complex failure analysis, full engine rebuilds, and the expert utilization of CAT Electronic Technician
- Relevant energy industry experience
- Ability to work self-guided with minimal supervision
- Thorough understanding of stop work authority (SWA) and safe work practices
- Knowledge and understanding of lock out/tag out (LOTO) procedures
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Suite
Compensation
- $60k-$70k
