About the role

  • This role is responsible for overseeing tax provision, compliance, and risk management processes performed by third-party providers, ensuring high-quality execution, accuracy, and alignment with Company objectives.
  • In addition to tax responsibilities, this position will play a key role in supporting the accounting for the Company's collaboration agreements, including analysis, documentation, and coordination with cross-functional stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain documentation and internal controls supporting the tax provision process.
  • Manage external tax advisors to ensure high-quality, cost-effective support.
  • Maintain tax-related internal controls in compliance with SOX requirements.
  • Collaboration Accounting Support
  • Support accounting for collaboration and licensing arrangements, including the initial operationalization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in tax and/or accounting.

Nice to have

  • CPA or advanced tax degree (e.g., MST, JD/LLM in Tax) strongly preferred.
  • Biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry experience, ideally with experience supporting commercialization activities, is preferred

Compensation

  • Oversee the quarterly and annual income tax provision process, including review of calculations prepared by external tax service providers.

Company info

  • The expected salary range for this position is $162,500.00 to $227,500.00 per year.
  • Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
  • Vir Biotechnology's compensation and benefits are aligned with the current market and commensurate with the person's experience and qualifications.
