About the role

Responsibilities

  • This position maintains specialized accounting record systems, including checking financial transactions for propriety, resolving errors, balancing accounts and records, and preparing reports.
  • Individuals in this position work in various OFS units and perform functions that compute, calculate and records financial, statistical, and numerical data to record details of business transactions to maintain accounting records and/or for use in statistical studies.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience calculating, recording, and maintaining accounting information that must include coding transactions and checking them for propriety, balancing, and resolving discrepancies in computer edits;
  • At least 94 quarter (62 semester) credit hours or an associate degree from an accredited college, university, or vocational-technical school that includes 12 quarter (8 semester) credit hours in accounting.
  • Demonstrate Initiative: The ability to assess a situation and act without direction from someone else.
  • Minimum Qualifications

Skills

  • Skill communicating with diverse groups, either verbally or in writing, to gather or exchange information or clarify and answer questions.
