About the role

Manufacturing Engineer, based in Huntsville, AL (Discovery).
The company has developed products ranging from chip-level, application-specific integrated circuits (ASIC) to complete, turnkey radar and communication systems.

Assist in developing and implementing assembly procedures
Providing shop floor support, developing manufacturing plans, tooling requirements, engineering change implementation and coordinating changes in the build process within an electrical/mechanical manufacturing facility, while mentoring and training junior engineers and technicians.
Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) techniques on both new and existing products to produce optimal design and manufacturing solutions.
US Citizenship due to Operations Security (OPSEC) Requirements. and the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
Interact across all levels of the organization; efficiently and effectively communicate and implement agreed upon changes; navigate difficult situations and conversations to a productive outcome.
Ability to accurately maintain records and documents in accordance with policies and procedures.

Experience should include military/DoD manufacturing experience, mechanical assemblies and/or circuit card assemblies and integration.
Familiar with IPC, J-STD, MIL and DOD Standards, in-depth knowledge, and experience with AS9100 standards and certification processes.
Experience in development and implementation of a new maintenance programs and creating training programs.

Active DoD secret clearance.
Experience with development programs and transition to production.
Experience applying audit standards, procedures, and techniques, strongly preferred.

Strong analytical skills in root cause analysis, corrective / preventative action determination.
Effective communication, teamwork, and leadership abilities.
