About the role

  • LMR Technical Group (LMR) is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team.
  • Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare and examine financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Apply knowledge of general ledger accounting to post entries, balance accounts, and reconcile discrepancies.

Responsibilities

  • Assess financial operations and support Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) initiatives.
  • Perform double-entry bookkeeping tasks, including identifying subsidiary accounts affected and determining proper debit and credit entries.
  • Prepare adjustment documents to correct accounting classifications and other data.
  • Independently manage workload and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Use Visio extensively to flowchart accounting processes and document workflows.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to junior accounting team members to support their development and ensure consistent work quality.
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Reporting to the Program Manager, the Senior Accountant prepares and reviews financial records to ensure accuracy and GAAP compliance, assess financial operations, and support Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in accounting, business, or a related technical discipline is required.
  • Must possess expert knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Must possess expert knowledge of general ledger accounting, auditing standards, and processes.
  • Must be able to design, document, and continuously improve accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Must be able to identify internal control gaps through testing and lead remediation efforts.
  • Must be able to evaluate transaction-level evidential matter to support audit conclusions and financial integrity.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

  • Current, active Secret security clearance.
  • Physic al Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.

Compensation

  • $65,000 - $70,000 annually.
  • Salary will be based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, training, certifications and work location.
