About the role

  • The Mortgage Claims Recovery Specialist is responsible for managing the timely filing, tracking, recovery, and reconciliation of mortgage-related insurance, government, investor, and reimbursement claims.
  • The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced mortgage servicing environment.
  • Monitor claim inventories and proactively follow up to ensure timely processing and recovery of proceeds.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Default Servicing, Bankruptcy, Foreclosure, Loss Mitigation, Property Preservation, Accounting, and Investor Reporting teams to obtain and validate claim documentation.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, trustees, vendors, title companies, insurers, and investors to resolve claim-related issues.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of mortgage servicing, default servicing, foreclosure, bankruptcy, loss mitigation, and investor reporting.
  • Familiarity with mortgage servicing systems and claims platforms, including ICE Mortgage Technology LoanSphere Claims and Proven Claims.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two (2) years of experience in mortgage servicing, claims administration, default servicing, foreclosure, bankruptcy, investor reporting, or a related field.
  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of mortgage servicing, default servicing, or mortgage claims experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams.
  • Experience utilizing mortgage servicing platforms and claims management systems.

  • This role plays a critical part in maximizing recoveries, minimizing losses, and ensuring compliance with investor, insurer, regulatory, and contractual requirements.
  • The Mortgage Claims Recovery Specialist partners with internal departments, investors, insurers, attorneys, trustees, title companies, and third-party vendors to ensure claims are accurately prepared, submitted, monitored, and resolved.
  • Ensure compliance with investor guidelines, insurer requirements, company policies, and applicable regulatory standards.
