About the role

  • The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a key component of the Missile Defense System.
  • It serves as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations, both globally and regionally, to improve performance.
  • C2BMC is also essential for all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the current and future capabilities of missile defense systems.

Responsibilities

  • As a member of the Regional Applications (RA) Agile Release Train (ART) of the Missile Defense National Team for C2BMC (C2BMC NT), the SLD Algorithm Engineer Lead - TRK will be a key contributor to the design, development, integration, and leadership of Java-based mathematical algorithms in support of the C2BMC System Discrimination (SLD) mission area.
  • Lead the design and development of complex, Java-based mathematical algorithms for SLD, with an emphasis on tracking and discrimination to support C2BMC operational capabilities

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 8 years of experience
  • or a Master's degree in a related field with 6 years of relevant work experience
  • or 12 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
  • Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
  • Experience with strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review system behavior issues, identify the root cause, and recommend a solution
  • The successful candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work independently, and the ability to work in a highly dynamic environment
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for all positions with a government clearance and certain other restricted positions.

  • Applicants with a current, active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND, etc.) at the time of application are highly preferred.
  • The candidate is responsible for maintaining their DoD 8140 certification throughout the entire contract period
  • Experience and knowledge in missile defense sensor discrimination
  • Experienced in the full life-cycle development of complex mathematical algorithms (including data fusion, tracking, correlation, guidance, battle management, and radar management) for Java-based military applications
  • Experience with Git/GitLab, Eclipse, Maven/Gradle, and SonarQube or similar toolsets
  • Experience reviewing system engineering artifacts such as ICDs, use cases, and sequence diagrams
  • Candidate may also be involved in implementing MATLAB or Python -based algorithms before their adoption into tactical Java-based software
  • Experience in the BMDS domain preferred

Skills

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of processes, tools, and technical approaches within RA ART

Compensation

  • $135,800.00 - $203,600.00
  • Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
