About the role

  • About the Positions We're seeking Senior CEI Inspector professionals who will provide Construction, Engineering, and Inspection (CEI) services for transportation projects located in the state of Georgia.
  • This is an advanced level technical work supporting engineers in functional areas of structure and roadway construction inspection; materials sampling, inspection and testing.
  • Work usually involves a fairly wide range of decision making and use of judgment and may include providing work direction to others.

Responsibilities

  • May perform project engineering duties in lieu of the Project Engineer on smaller construction projects with construction let amounts less than $10,000,000.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of progressive transportation technician experience as an employee or consultant for a State Highway Agency, or an equivalent combination of training and directly related experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in highway construction.
  • Considerable knowledge of mathematical functions, including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry related to highway and transportation engineering.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and explain construction plans, contract provisions, specifications, and inspection procedures.
  • Ability to take notes and prepare or review reports.
  • Ability to supervise and coordinate the activities of lower-level employees.
  • Must be licensed to operate motor vehicles in accordance with Georgia Law.
  • Proficiency with computers (e.g., Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Outlook, internet, etc.).
  • Required Certifications
  • May perform contract administration duties, including field measurements of pay items and completion of Department-required documentation.
