About the role
- The instructor's role is to also uphold the mission and values of Community Academies of New Orleans in all student and family interactions to ensure our commitment is promoting academic excellence and success.
- Planning and implementing high quality instruction in accordance with the identified dual language model, in the target language that ensures the attainment of appropriate grade level learning standards.
- Establish and communicate clear content and language objectives for all learning activities.
Responsibilities
- The primary role of the Dual Language (English) Instructor is to deliver classroom instruction that helps students learn.
- CANO will strive for high academic performance at all our schools while securing partnerships and programming that use community assets to support our schools and students.
Requirements
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for 75% of the workday.
- Prepare students adequately for all required assessments.
- Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws, district policies and school regulations.
- Prepare required reports on students and activities. · Participate in department, school, district and parent meetings.
- Fluent English oral and written proficiency
- Demonstrated ability to work with students and families from diverse backgrounds
