About the role

  • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of office spaces and common spaces across campus.
  • Work Days: Varied; to be determined during the hiring process Shift Start/End Time: 5:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. Hours Per Week: 40 Weeks Per Year: 52 Custodian Pay Status and Classification: Non-exempt, Regular full-time.
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

  • Removes office and building trash.

Requirements

  • Must be safety conscious, and able to read, write and understand written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work on weekends and have two weekdays off.
  • During emergency situations, staff may be required to work in the event of a personnel shortage.
  • A valid NYS driver's license with a clean driving record is required, as full-time employees must participate in the on-call rotation, which involves the use of campus vehicles.
  • Ability to foster and enhance a thriving, diverse, inclusive, and culturally vibrant community, while promoting a sense of belonging among students, faculty and staff colleagues, and alumni.
  • Ability to lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.), and stand, bend and stoop for extended periods of time.

  • E-Verify Participation: Union College participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation

  • The rate for this position is $16.00 per hour.
  • Except for roles with a set rate of pay, the wage/salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
  • The stated hiring rate/range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
