About the role
- RRI is coordinated by a Secretariat based in Washington, DC.
- It aims to address the gap in investment in Indigenous Peoples, local communities, and Afro-descendant (IP, LC, and AD) organizations and their allies.
- You'll join a collaborative international team that values initiative, continuous learning, and respectful partnership across cultures.
Responsibilities
- Manage grant administration activities, including contracts, amendments, work plans, reporting, and payment coordination.
- Collaborate with compliance, finance, and monitoring teams to ensure projects meet organizational and donor requirements.
- Draft and coordinate correspondence, reports, presentations, and program documentation in English and either Spanish or Portuguese, with support for other relevant languages as needed.
- Serve as a liaison among regional facilitators, grantees, consultants, and internal teams to support effective communication and project coordination.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with regional teams, partners, and grantees.
- Provide general administrative support and perform other related duties as assigned.
- Organization Planning & Institution-Wide Support (25%)
- Support organization-wide planning, governance, and strategic initiatives as needed.
- Edit and translate internal documents and support multilingual communications in English and Spanish or Portuguese.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience in grants management, nonprofit operations, program administration, or international development.
- Fluency in English and professional working proficiency in either Spanish or Portuguese.
- Professional working proficiency in French.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work in a multicultural, collaborative environment.
- Ability to travel internationally throughout Latin America.
- Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada and located in the Montreal area prior to the start date.
- Baccalauréat en développement international, en relations internationales, en politiques publiques ou dans un domaine connexe (ou formation et expérience professionnelle équivalentes).
- 1 à 2 ans d'expérience en gestion de subventions, en opérations d'organismes sans but lucratif, en administration de programmes ou en développement international.
- Maîtrise de l'anglais et maîtrise professionnelle de l'espagnol ou du portugais.
- Maîtrise professionnelle du français.
- Excellentes compétences en organisation, en gestion du temps et en coordination de projets.
- Excellentes compétences en communication écrite et verbale.
- Maîtrise de Microsoft Office.
- Capacité à travailler dans un environnement multiculturel et collaboratif
Nice to have
- Experience supporting international grants or donor-funded programs.
- Familiarity with grant management or project management systems (e.g. SmartSimple).
- Experience supporting countries or programs in Latin America.
- Experience with Indigenous Peoples, local communities, or local community organizations.

Compensation
- CAD $56,000-$70,000.
- Actual starting salary is typically between the minimum and midpoint of the range, based on experience and qualifications, allowing room for future growth within the salary band.
