About the role

  • The Quality Group Leader plays a key leadership role in supporting daily quality operations and driving excellence across the manufacturing process.
  • Working closely with the Quality Manager, this role helps ensure product quality, cost efficiency, and safety standards are consistently met.
  • This position provides hands-on leadership to quality inspectors while partnering cross-functionally to improve processes, resolve issues, and strengthen overall product performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and train a team of quality inspectors to ensure high performance and consistency.
  • Partner with the Quality Manager to identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and product quality.
  • Provide direct quality support to Product Management and Engineering to resolve customer issues and product returns.
  • Serve as a key liaison between Service, Manufacturing, Engineering, Product, and Sales teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support quality control activities for incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods.
  • Perform other related duties as needed to support departmental and company goals.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams in a collaborative environment

Nice to have

  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience (lawn equipment or similar industry experience is a plus)
  • Hands-on experience using quality tools and measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, multimeters, and torque wrenches
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electronics inspection processes, hardware accessories, and metal processing technologies
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing setting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with MES, MRP, or ERP systems is a plus
