About the role
- The Quality Group Leader plays a key leadership role in supporting daily quality operations and driving excellence across the manufacturing process.
- Working closely with the Quality Manager, this role helps ensure product quality, cost efficiency, and safety standards are consistently met.
- This position provides hands-on leadership to quality inspectors while partnering cross-functionally to improve processes, resolve issues, and strengthen overall product performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and train a team of quality inspectors to ensure high performance and consistency.
- Partner with the Quality Manager to identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Provide direct quality support to Product Management and Engineering to resolve customer issues and product returns.
- Serve as a key liaison between Service, Manufacturing, Engineering, Product, and Sales teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support quality control activities for incoming materials, in-process production, and finished goods.
- Perform other related duties as needed to support departmental and company goals.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams in a collaborative environment
Nice to have
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience (lawn equipment or similar industry experience is a plus)
- Hands-on experience using quality tools and measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, multimeters, and torque wrenches
- Strong understanding of mechanical and/or electronics inspection processes, hardware accessories, and metal processing technologies
- Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on manufacturing setting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience with MES, MRP, or ERP systems is a plus
