Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Support and provide assistance to associates ensuring accounting controls and policies are well understood and followed.
  • Provide insightful analysis to support management decision-making.
  • Perform and oversee special studies for management, including ratio and trend analyses, and other comparative examinations.
  • Manage department leaders' budgeting and forecasting processes to help guide strategic decision-making and ensure financial stability.
  • Assist in developing long and short-run budgeting and operational goals and objectives.
  • Develop, recommend, implement, and monitor budgeting and operational plans, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This includes developing and implementing policies and procedures to mitigate financial risks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum of five years of financial accounting and budgeting experience required.
  • Required Knowledge
  • Advance knowledge of advanced financial accounting practices and procedures.
  • Significant knowledge and experience with complex budgeting, costing, pricing, and forecasting practices and procedures.
  • CPA, and/or CMA designation desired or candidate for the same.
  • Comprehensive understanding of generally accepted accounting principles, government regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Familiar with and understands related automated accounting applications, auditing, and data processing functions.
  • Skills/Abilities
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent analytical abilities.
  • Ability to manage and coordinate projects with multiple individuals and departments.

Nice to have

  • Public Accounting experience preferred.
  • Management experience of people (direct or indirect) or projects is preferred.

Compensation

  • Coordinate and facilitate the annual audit process with external auditors, including the preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation.
