About the role
- At Northwestern Medicine, every patient interaction makes a difference in cultivating a positive workplace.
- This position is a non-licensed staff member who assists the professional staff with patient care as defined by those activities that do not require the clinical decision making.
- This staff member assists the business office with clerical and maintenance duties and selected tasks related to the operation of the Rehabilitation Services Department.
Responsibilities
- Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly, cleans equipment according to standards.
- Independently maintains all equipment cleaning logs and performs monthly maintenance.
- Manages department specific Rehabilitation Services Call List and communication needs.
- Posts payments, process billing information and perform "end of day" cash drawer closing.
- Manages faxing documentation to insurance companies and/or physician offices for authorization and signatures for Plan of Care as appropriate.
- Manages clinic inventory.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.

- Previous experience in a healthcare setting.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Accurately identifies patient medical record number to avoid duplication of records in system.
