About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design and build backend services, APIs, and data pipelines that support Collate's products.
  • Collaborate with product, design, and ML teams to turn ideas into production-ready features.
  • Build internal tools and workflows that accelerate engineering productivity.
  • Continuously improve backend architecture to support rapid growth and new capabilities.
  • Strong skills in building APIs and services, with attention to reliability and performance.
  • Ability to move quickly while building for long-term maintainability.

Requirements

  • Experience designing and scaling backend systems in production.
  • Comfort working across the stack when needed, with a focus on backend depth.
  • Ownership: Shape both our product experience and our engineering culture from the start.

Compensation

  • The base salary range for this role is $150,000-$300,000 USD annually, depending on experience and level (Tier 1, San Francisco)
