Responsibilities
- Effectively manage the commissioning process for projects requiring MEP systems commissioning across design, construction, start-up, and post-occupancy phases.
- Assign work to commissioning consultants and review proposals for MEP commissioning services during both design and construction phases to ensure scope alignment, technical adequacy, and compliance with client standards, while also overseeing consultant payment request processing.
- Assist the supervisor in managing consultants engaged in MEP commissioning design reviews, construction phase oversight, and project closeout activities.
- Support project commissioning closeout activities by coordinating with commissioning consultants, client's internal departments, consultants, and contractors, including organizing and leading recurring borough meetings and project-specific meetings.
- Review and update construction checklists (pre-functional checks) for all equipment and systems to be commissioned, ensuring alignment with contract specifications, client design standards, applicable codes and regulatory requirements and project-specific performance criteria Alternatively, review this documentation when prepared by third-party consultants.
- Review renovation and new construction design:
- Review scope documents and design submissions for renovation and new buildings at key design milestones using the Bluebeam platform and established review protocols
- Evalute drawings, specifications, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with client design-standards, project-specific scope requirements, applicable codes and regulatory requirements, as well as verifying and or enhancing the overall quality of the design.
- Assist in the development, revision, and implementation of new or updated design standards, commissioning guidelines, and technical requirements.
- Bradford Construction has an opening for an MEP Commissioning (Cx) Engineer / Architect / Design Reviewer to support renovation and new construction projects for one of our New York City public agency clients.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of energy codes, LEED standards, and industry standards/protocols for commissioning
- Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.
- Participate in project progress meetings and design review/QC meetings, as required, to facilitate discussion and resolution of identified
- Bachelors' degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
Nice to have
- NY-licensed Professional Engineer or Registered Architect preferred
Compensation
- $115,000 - $135,000 USD
- Bachelors' degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
