About the role

  • This job description is intended to be a representative summary of the major responsibilities and accountabilities performed by incumbents in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Provides practical nursing support under the direction of a physician or advanced practice provider in a clinic setting.
  • Performs patient assessments, including vital signs, chief complaint, and medication reconciliation.
  • Maintains exam, treatment, and lab areas in a clean and safe condition and ensures supplies and equipment are available.
  • Performs laboratory-related tasks as applicable, including specimen collection, preparation, and basic testing following appropriate training and quality standards.
  • Performs radiology-related tasks as applicable, including assisting with imaging procedures and ensuring proper safety precautions and documentation.
  • Supports telehealth services, including tele-retinal and tele-dermatology setup as applicable.

Requirements

  • Ability to problem solve and communicate effectively with a wide range of individuals.
  • Incumbents may be required to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia required.
  • Limited Radiologic Technician license required for roles performing radiology functions.
  • Current AHA BLS-HCP certification required.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing required, or a new graduate of an approved program eligible to sit for the Virginia licensure exam.
  • Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia required.
  • Life Support: Current AHA BLS-HCP certification required.

Compensation

  • $21.61 - $30.25 Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience.
  • The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
