About the role
- We are seeking a reliable and motivated Wind Service Technician to join our team.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing wind turbines to ensure their optimal operation.
- This role is critical to supporting the renewable energy industry and demands a strong commitment to safety, technical skills, and the ability to work in challenging environments.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbines, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Maintain compliance with company, industry, and regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, findings, and parts used
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- Must be at a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age
- Experience in wind turbine maintenance or related electrical/mechanical systems
- Knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems and troubleshooting
- Ability to lift, move, and carry objects weighing 75lbs. or greater
- Must be able to walk, sit, stand, bend, reach, and climb
- Must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights, including climbing tanks, ladders, scaffolding, towers, piping systems, catwalks, structural steel, and wind turbines
- Must be able to walk and climb except when performing non-field duties
- GWO BST required
- To be considered, applicants must be able provide documentation of current or previous certifications, as well as all classroom and/or on-the-job training (OJT) hours required for certification.
Nice to have
- GWO BTT preferred
- NFPA 70 preferred
Skills
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, schematics, and electrical test equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work on complex machinery
- Familiarity with SCADA systems and turbine-specific software is preferred
