About the role

The Arlington Heights Park District (AHPD) is a public park and recreation agency located in Arlington Heights, Illinois-one of the largest communities in Chicago's prestigious northwest suburban corridor.

Additional hours may be required when school is not in session or is only in session for half of the day.
CPR/AED (Child & Adult) certification required
ability to remain composed in high-stress or emergency situations
Self-motivated with the ability to follow through on tasks, work independently, and take direction from supervisors
Associate's Degree in Education, Recreation, or related field; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Minimum three years of experience working with or supervising children in a childcare or program setting; supervisory experience preferred
Must pass Illinois Criminal Background Check (ISP fingerprint), DCFS CANTS screening, and TB test; CPR/AED (Child & Adult) certification required
Strong ability to work with school-aged children and maintain positive relationships with staff, families, and the public
Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and customer service skills; ability to remain composed in high-stress or emergency situations

Minimum three years of experience working with or supervising children in a childcare or program setting
supervisory experience preferred
