  • Sompo has a unique opportunity for an Underwriter on our Middle Market team.
  • Our Middle Market Underwriting team offers diverse multi-line capabilities targeted at select industry verticals such as real estate, hospitality, financial institutions, professional services, technology, and manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate Underwriting Risks: Drive submission activity and determine risk acceptability using company guidelines.
  • Maintain Underwriting Discipline: Use specialized tools to ensure thorough account reviews and complete documentation.
  • Analyze Market Trends: Monitor state regulations, territory issues, and underwriting data to drive results.
  • Cultivate Broker Relationships: Build strong connections through active marketing, client meetings, and regional travel.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years of underwriting experience.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Compensation

  • $65,000 - $125,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
