About the role

  • Total Number of Openings 1 Chevron Shale & Tight Business Unit is accepting online applications for the position of I&E Technician A, located at Tioga, ND. through August 10th, 2026, 11:59 p.m. (Central Standard Time).
  • This position will be responsible for maintaining and configuration of electronic equipment such as Transmitters, Control Valves, PLC's, VFD's and Operator Interface units, and various other instrumentation equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and maintain, 480v power, 120 control circuits, 24v circuits, transformers, motors, electronic controls by following electrical drawings and test equipment.
  • Assesses risks and builds Job Safety Analysis and Permit to Work documents prior to any job being executed.

Nice to have

  • Electrical or instrumentation associate's degree.
  • SAP Work Management system experience.
  • 2-5 years working in an industrial environment maintaining and troubleshooting electrical instrumentation and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of PLC systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of low voltage electrical distribution systems.

Skills

  • Participate/use: Standard Work Instructions, Structured Problem Solving, Dashboards and Operating Rhythm, 5S, Mistake Proofing
  • Willing to mentor junior technicians.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's license.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications.
  • Willing to occasionally work outside of normal working hours, on-call, overtime, etc.
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions when situation requires.
  • Demonstrates use of:
  • Correct hand tool (e.g., brass hammer, crescent wrench) selection and use when completing work activities.
  • HART Interface Field Device to map radar gauges and save echo curves (e.g., Emmerson 475 field communicator,
  • Possesses knowledge of:
  • Electrical concepts - voltage, current, resistance, reactance, impedance, direct current, mechanical vs. electrical energy
