About the role
- include checking vital signs, obtaining and documenting medical and social history, administering injections, performing venipuncture, scheduling, patient registration, referral coordination, and medical records processing.
- The role also involves greeting patients, verifying insurance, collecting payments, and coordinating care services.
- This position may mentor or precept students and volunteers assisting in any of these activities along with other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Manage patient phone calls and messages as appropriate for scope of practice.
- Perform daily patient flow functions and front office duties, effectively multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Safely administer injections and perform venipuncture.
Requirements
- Some travel may be required.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Must have the physical stamina to work long hours and/or more than 5 days per week.

- Provide care consistent with a patient-centered approach, addressing social determinants of health.
- Graduate of an accredited medical assistant training program or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting.
- Current Medical Assistant Certification in the State of Michigan.
- One (1) year working in a healthcare setting with electronic medical record experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
